Another timely article by our friend at Dancing Dinosaur – Alan is one of the first to write at length about the just-announced z15 mainframe system. The Dancing Dinosaur tells us that it’s not a typical ‘more-power’ or ‘bigger and better’ type announcement, but rather more along the lines of managing the privacy of customer data across hybrid multi-cloud environments, and controlling access, including an industry-first capability to revoke access to data even across the hybrid cloud. Hybrid multicloud: A mouthful, but the right approach

Planet Mainframe friend Craig Mullins is a respected voice in the mainframe community; he’s been writing authoritative books for years now – his DB2 Developer’s Guide is in its 6th edition, and he’s publishing A Guide to Db2 Performance for Application Developers later this year. When Crain writes, people read. So, it’s no surprise that IBM has again posted an article of his on their website. Definitely worth a read.

The folks at Mainframe Debate have some interesting things to say about its impact on cloud, security, availability and compression. Worth a read.
