Hazelcast and IBM Partner to Boost Real-Time Data Solutions on Mainframe

Hazelcast and IBM have announced a collaboration to enhance real-time data processing for enterprise workloads. The partnership pairs IBM’s new LinuxONE and Linux on Z mainframes, which run on the advanced Telum II processor, with Hazelcast’s real-time data platform. This combination is designed to meet growing demands for low-latency, high-throughput applications in industries like banking, finance, and security.

The collaboration aims to tackle critical challenges in modern computing, including performance bottlenecks, scalability, data consistency, and real-time event processing. Hazelcast’s unified platform—featuring in-memory data grids, stream processing, and distributed computing—will operate on IBM’s highly secure and energy-efficient servers to support fast, reliable data access.

Use cases for the partnership include instant payments, real-time fraud detection, and low-latency caching—vital for high-stakes financial applications. IBM and Hazelcast say the combined technologies will help enterprises create innovative solutions in hybrid and multi-cloud environments while leveraging existing infrastructure. The companies highlight the potential for businesses to accelerate AI and machine learning workloads, reduce costs, and simplify IT integration by adopting this integrated approach.
