[Nashville, July 9, 2024] — Planet Mainframe, the premier online community and resource hub for the mainframe industry, is excited to announce a new initiative to foster the next generation of mainframe professionals.
Effective immediately, Planet Mainframe will offer free job postings for entry-level positions at Jobs.PlanetMainframe.com. This initiative underscores Planet Mainframe’s commitment to supporting the industry by encouraging the hiring of new talent.
Job posting packages are still available to mainframe employers for just USD 199 and up. However, recognizing the critical need to attract and develop new mainframers, Planet Mainframe waives this fee for entry-level positions. This initiative will make it easier for companies to find and hire promising new professionals eager to start their careers in the mainframe industry.
“Hiring new talent is essential for the continued growth and innovation of the mainframe industry,” said Amanda Hendley, Managing Editor of Planet Mainframe. “I was inspired by numerous conversations with mainframe educators and employers this year. While educational institutions and the industry are collaborating effectively to produce mainframe-ready talent, there’s a clear gap in entry-level job availability.
“By offering free job postings for entry-level positions, we want to remove barriers for companies looking to bring in fresh perspectives and skills,” she continued. ”Our goal is to connect talented professionals at all career stages with employers eager to invest in employee training and development. This initiative aims to support both new graduates and those seeking a career change, helping them to join and thrive in the mainframe community.”
To post an entry-level position at no cost, companies should create an employer account at Jobs.Planetmainframe.com, and use code 95277436 for a free, 30-day posting. It is requested that jobs posted through this program indicate their entry-level requirements.
Planet Mainframe’s mission is to promote the continued relevance and growth of mainframe computing by connecting professionals and organizations, fostering innovation, and advocating for the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and best practices. Through its new job posting initiative, Planet Mainframe aims to ensure that the mainframe industry remains robust and dynamic by supporting the entry of new talent.
