I have been a z/OS and CICS Systems Programmer for over 30 years and have been teaching more than 25 years.  I have worked in permanent and contract roles.  I have installed CICS and related software many times.

I am well versed in the Application side of CICS using Command level and with CICS Debugging in both the Transaction level and CICS Systems Dumps using IPCS. I have written many courses in CICS namely (CICS for System Programmers, CICS Transaction Debugging, CICS Performance and Tuning, CICS Command Level Programming and CICS Internals).

I am also well versed in z/OS and in 2013 I upgraded the Bank of America z/OS systems from V1.12 to V1.13 on more than 20 LPARS. I have written courses in RACF, SMPE, JES2, TSO/ISPF, JCL, Storage, VSAM and z/OS for System Programmers. I know and have taught Assembler and I’m conversant in COBOL programming language.

I have also written many articles and shared them on Linkedin.

I have conducted training for Customers in many countries, including, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, The Philippines, The Netherlands, Belgium, Hungary and the UK. Many of my customers are from financial industries, and I have worked at and taught for Development Bank of Singapore (DBS), Citibank, Bank of America, Westpac, Commonwealth Bank.

I have taught for IBM in the UK, Australia, India and Singapore.

CICS is used on 80% of Mainframe Systems across the world. It is known as CICS Transaction Server. Application Programmers can write their programs using CICS Command Level interface. System programmers install CICS, and engage in Performance Tuning, and Debugging. CICS can communicate with many other CICS systems, and many other systems, such as VTAM and TCP/IP. CICS communicates with Web Services and can utilize all the Computer Processors in an LPAR (Logical Partition). CICS is the main software that drives the financial services of many Fortune 500 companies.

These courses represent the full array of training needed, no matter how you interface with CICS. CICS/TS latest version is 6.1 and installations are now considering upgrading to this new version. These courses include the necessary information to perform this upgrade and expand the knowledge of all those needing to work with CICS.

Verhoef Training is pleased to announce that their CICS Training now includes CICS/TS V6.1.

This is the newest version of CICS/TS which was announced in June 2022.

Db2 Workload Performance on Fire

The following CICS/TS courses are compliant with CICS/TS V6.1:

CICS/TS FUNDAMENTALS
CICS/TS FOR SYSTEM PROGRAMMERS
CICS/TS INTERNALS WORKSHOP
CICS/TS TRANSACTION DEBUGGING
CICS/TS COMMAND LEVEL PROGRAMMING
CICS/TS PERFORMANCE AND TUNING

All courses have been developed over many years by Colin Pearce. They are all up to date. Delegates will have a CICS/TS V6.1 System to use as part of the Labs

For example:
CICS/TS V6.1. can only be installed using z/OSMF. This is covered in this new release of the training software.

There are new Dynamic Storage Areas in V6.1. These are fully covered.

If you wish to know more, Verhoef Training has the topics list and can arrange for dates, times, and courses to take.
