Don Zeunert provides consulting services through ProTech IT Training & Consulting for Mainframe, specializing in mainframe performance optimization, cost reduction, and capacity planning. He also serves as an instructor for ProTech, delivering updated courses focused on performance management and cost control in modern mainframe environments.
Prior to joining ProTech, Don spent more than 35 years working at IBM and BMC Software. At BMC, he helped numerous customers significantly reduce IBM Monthly License Charges (MLC) while improving system efficiency and delaying costly hardware upgrades. At IBM, Don’s final role was within the Advanced Technologies Group, where he worked with hundreds of customers worldwide to ensure the effective use and tuning of OMEGAMON products across z/OS, USS, CICS, Db2, and MQ environments.
Don is a frequent speaker at SHARE and regional Computer Measurement Group (CMG) and NASPA events. He has authored numerous articles on OMEGAMON and ITM tuning and contributed major portions of the IBM Redbook IBM Tivoli OMEGAMON XE V3.1.0 Deep Dive on z/OS.
