Kyndryl launches agentic AI framework and services for the mainframe
Kyndryl has introduced a new set of agentic AI services for IBM z/OS environments, combining its long-standing mainframe expertise with hybrid IT and automation capabilities. The goal is to help organizations in highly regulated sectors scale AI closer to their core data, reduce latency, and modernize without disrupting mission-critical systems.
The services draw on Kyndryl’s Agentic AI Framework to orchestrate agents and workflows, supporting faster decision-making, proactive issue resolution, smoother compliance processes, and more resilient operations.
Kyndryl’s AI-enabled mainframe services, integrated with the Kyndryl Bridge platform, provide intelligent automation, predictive analytics and insights across mainframe systems. To advance mainframe transformation, the company is also deploying IBM watsonx Assistant for Z and other AI platforms to support automation, orchestration and lifecycle management.
Skyla Loomis, General Manager of IBM Z Software, weighed in on the collaboration, noting that, “Kyndryl’s newest AI services empower clients to deploy advanced AI on the mainframes that form the backbone of their operations to accelerate decision-making and drive operational agility.”

Kyndryl’s move to bring AI inferencing closer to mainframe data aligns with findings from the company’s 2025 State of Mainframe Modernization Survey: 88% of organizations have implemented or plan to implement AI on the mainframe, yet 70% struggle to find multi-skilled talent.
Respondents anticipate that AI will increase business agility and operational consistency, and the survey projects more than $30 billion in combined cost savings and new revenue over the next three years as adoption accelerates.
“Kyndryl is leading the way in providing world-class agentic AI-enabled delivery services to customers that will instill confidence in the mainframe’s role as an engine of innovation for global enterprises,” said Hassan Zamat, Global Practice Leader for Core Enterprise and zCloud at Kyndryl.

Precisely Announces Gio™ AI Assistant and Data Catalog Agent in the Data Integrity Suite
Precisely has introduced Gio, an AI assistant built into the Precisely Data Integrity Suite, offering a conversational interface that lets users discover, monitor, cleanse, govern, and enrich data by describing tasks in plain language.
The launch also includes Precisely AI and Agentic Fabric, a unified layer that governs and connects AI capabilities across the suite, building on Precisely’s AI Ecosystem for Data Integrity and advancing the company’s vision for trusted, well-governed AI.
Gio works alongside a new specialized AI agent, the Data Catalog Agent, which automates the identification and tagging of sensitive data such as PII and critical data elements. Additional agents (following in the coming weeks) will extend automation across more data management workflows.
“Managing enterprise data has come a long way, yet it still requires coordination across people, tools, and processes,” said Chris Hall, Chief Product Officer at Precisely. “Gio, the Data Catalog Agent, and the AI and Agentic Fabric take that next step, making it as easy as having a conversation while ensuring every action aligns with the governance, compliance, and trust models our customers depend on.”
By interpreting natural-language requests, such as “find and tag sensitive data,” Gio activates the appropriate agent to complete tasks that previously required coding or deep platform expertise.
The AI and Agentic Fabric support multiple model choices and maintain transparency through auditable workflows and secure controls. Together, Gio, the Data Catalog Agent, and the underlying fabric reflect Precisely’s focus on explainable, compliant AI designed to automate routine work without compromising governance.
Key benefits include:
- Speed and simplicity: Gio turns complex data management tasks into quick, natural interactions.
- Scalable automation: The Data Catalog Agent automates ongoing data cataloging tasks such as documenting and classifying PII and CDE, to help keep your data compliant and connected.
- Choice and control: Customers define the guardrails, maintaining visibility and governance over AI use.
These releases continue Precisely’s momentum in AI-driven data integrity, following recent innovations such as AI-powered rule generation, natural language interfaces, and flexible large language model (LLM) support within the Data Integrity Suite.
