Do more at the Core. Built to Learn, Engineered to Lead.
The GS-UK In-Person Conference 2025 will be held on Monday, 3 November to Thursday, 6 November 2025, at Whittlebury Hall, Northamptonshire. This year’s theme is Do more at the Core. Built to Learn, Engineered to Lead.
If you are attending, check out the Technical Agenda and download the Whova for your mobile device.
I spent a morning this week using the Whova App, to try and sort out my agenda and unfortunately, I was very disheartened. There are so many great sessions I realised I could only see a fraction of them.
If you are attending with colleagues, I highly recommend that you sit down together in advance and agree who will attend which session, so you cover as many presentations as possible.
Top Sessions to Attend
On my list of sessions I plan to attend or would highly recommend:
- I am presenting a couple of sessions, my favourite being a session in the 102-stream called RACF for New Sysprogs.
- Seven Ways to Save Your Sanity and Stop Burning Your Toast, Glenn Anderson
- Introduction to CICS for the Non-CICS Specialist, just because Ezriel is such a great presenter
- Upgrading to z/OS 3.2; Planning, Part 1 & 2, Marna Walle, enough said!
- What’s new in zCX for Docker and Red Hat OpenShift on z/OS. Steve Warren
- Ears Wide Open: Turning Listening into Your Superpower, Glenn Anderson, just because!
- CICS Security Discovery, John Taylor
- IPCS for Beginners, Ed Jaffe
- RACF Update, Mark Nelson
- How easy is it to extract someone’s TSO password? Tony Amies, because this sounds like fun!
If you are going to be at GS-UK, please say hi to me and the Planet Mainframe team if you see us. We hope you have safe travels and an enjoyable conference!
