Bruno Binotti Souza Camargo has spent more than 15 years in the trenches of enterprise computing—building, maintaining, and securing the backbone of systems around the world. He has a reputation as a dependable mainframe analyst with hands-on expertise in z/OS, storage management, and system modernization.
With a shift to z/OS support in 2017, Bruno took on more technical challenges— executing pervasive encryption and setting up ACF2 RuleLong rules, and managing product upgrades and maintenance across complex customer environments.
At Kyndryl, Bruno plays a key role in infrastructure stability and client delivery. He supports modernization initiatives through hybrid skills in AWS and Azure. His cloud certifications include the AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solutions Architect Associate, and Microsoft Azure SC-900. He recently completed the IBM Mainframe Systems Programmer Level I Certificate.
One colleague said, “You went above and beyond leading activities with clients. You demonstrated a great level of maturity and commitment. Your efforts did not go unnoticed.”
One of his standout technical contributions was a 25-step implementation of ACF2 RuleLong rules to enhance database security via pervasive encryption. “I wanted to add one more layer of granularity to the way we manage access,” he said in his nomination. “And to make encryption part of the system, not just an afterthought.”
He’s equally passionate about sharing what he knows. Bruno writes on LinkedIn about mainframe topics, supports early-career professionals, and mentors team members beyond his formal responsibilities.
“Bruno, your help was very fundamental to me,” wrote a teammate. “Thank you for all the support you provided since I joined the z/OS team.”
Bilingual in Portuguese and English, with conversational Spanish, Bruno combines technical skill with cross-cultural communication and team collaboration. Whether it’s diagnosing JES2 or implementing DFSHSM and SMS policies, he brings a calm approach to solving problems.
“I’m always ready to learn more—and always ready to help,” he says. And his colleagues agree: he’s someone you want on your team when the pressure’s on.
